Lorri Neilsen Glenn is a poet, essayist and ethnographer who teaches at Mount St. Vincent University in Halifax. She grew up on the prairies and moved to Nova Scotia in 1983. The author and editor of six academic books on literacy, research, and feminist inquiry as well as two books of poetry, she was appointed Poet Laureate of Halifax for 2005-2009. Her poems have appeared in journals and publications such as Grain, Arc, The Antigonish Review, The Malahat Review, Contemporary Verse 2, Prairie Fire, Madwoman in the Academy, Child, and Dance the Guns to Silence: 100 Poems for Ken Saro-Wiwa, among others. Her essays and reviews have appeared in The Antigonish Review, The Globe and Mail, Dropped Threads 3, Atlantic Books Today, and Event, among others.
